Description:
With a pendulous, elongate stem enveloped by imbricate leaf sheaths and carrying leathery, distinctly purple in bright light leaves that blooms in the fall, winter and spring on a short, 2 to 6 flowered infloresence arising opposite the leaves and holding the flowers close to the stem.

Ecological:
Found in the Philippines coastal forests at elevations up to 1000 m as a giant sized, hot to warm growing, monopodial epiphyte.
