Description: 

with a creeping rhizome with 3/4" to 1.6" betweeen each pseudobulbless shoot carrying 2 to 3, close-set, terete, laterally flattened, ventrally grooved, basally clasping leaves and is a spring blooming orchid on an apical, arcuate, pubescent, short to 2.5 cm, 1 to 3 flowered inflorescence with pubescent, fragrant flowers reminiscent of vanilla.

Distribution:

Assam, Borneo, Cambodia, China South-Central, China Southeast, East Himalaya, Hainan, Laos, Malaya, Myanmar, Sumatera, Thailand, Tibet, Vietnam (Vĩnh Phúc, Phan Rang to Tây Nguyên (Đắklắk, Lâm Đồng), Đồng Nai). 

Ecological:

This species is a miniature to small sized, hot to cool growing epiphyte or lithophyte in broadleaf, evergreen, semi-deciduous and deciduous dry lowland forests, savanah-like woodlands and humid, mossy, mixed and coniferous forests on mossy branches of old, dwarf, gnarled trees, primary montane forests or highland primary montane cloud forests at elevations of sealevel to 1300 m.

Flowering times:

Blooms in the summer.

Flower size:

1.8 cm.

Cultivation:

Plant should be grown in a shady area with cool to warm temperatures. plants should be watered two to three times a week with dry outs between watering. Plants should be potted in a free draining medium such as medium fir bark with perlite or in sphagnum moss. Plant can also be mounted.
