Phalaenopsis javanica

"The Javanese Phalaenopsis is native to South coast of Java, between Garut (Garoet) at an altitude of 700 m and the Gulf of Pelabuhan (Wijnkoops-Baai) at sea level. The amount of natural habitats is not reported, but it is known that it is grown in the Bogor Botanical Garden, at an altitude of 175 m."

English Name:

The Javanese Phalaenopsis.

Description: 

With many glossy, elliptic-obovate, apically acute or obtuse tapering below into the base leaves that blooms in the spring on a suberect, racemose, sometimes branching, to 25 cm long, rachis fractiflex, few flowered inflorescence with triangular, acute-acuminate, concave floral bracts carrying fleshy, cupped flowers.

Jawa, Sumatera. 

Ecological:

At elevations around 700 to 1000 m as a sized, warm growing epiphyte.

Flowering times:

Blooms in the spring and summer.

Flower size:

3.0 cm.

LIGHT/LOCATION: semi-shady

TEMPERATURE: warm (20 - 24 °C

WATERING: Pour every 7 days

FERTILIZATION: every 14 days with special orchid fertilizer
