Description: 

With an ellipsoid, pubescent tuber giving rise to a leafy around the middle, bracteate above stems with linear-lanceolate, long acuminate, sheaths and carrying 4 to 5, ovate-elliptic, acute, narrowing below into the short, channeled petiolate base leaves grading above into 2 to 8, spreading to suberect, lanceolate, acuminate, sterile bracts that blooms in the late spring and early summer on a glabrous, 5 to 19 cm long, subdensely to laxly many flowered inflorescence with lanceolate, acuminate floral bracts.

Distribution:

Andaman Is., Assam, China South-Central, China Southeast, East Himalaya, India, Myanmar, Nepal, Thailand, Vietnam (Thừa Thiên, Huế, Lâm Đồng).

Ecological:

in tropical valleys, broad leaved forests and thickets at elevations of 610 to 1800 m as a medium to large sized, warm to cool growing terrestrial.

Flowering times:

Blooms in the late spring and early summer.

Flower size:

5.0 mm.
