English Name:
Description:
With flattened, ovate pseudobulbs enveloped basally by several imbricating, leaf-bearing sheaths and carries a single apical, narrowly elliptic, conduplicate towards the petiolate base leaf that blooms at most any time of the year on an erect, basal up through the leaf sheaths, several flowered raceme or occasional panicle that is longer than the leaves.
Distribution:
Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico Southeast, Nicaragua, Panamá, Venezuela.
Ecological:
This miniature sized, hot to cool growing epiphytic species is found at elevations of 500 to 2200 m in Colombia along the Andes in wet montane cloud forests.
Flowering times:
Blooms at most any time of the year.
Flower size:
1.4 cm.
Cultivation:
Grow in cool to warm conditions with moderate to bright light. Water the plant right before the potting mix starts to dry. Plants should be potted in a well drain medium such as medium fir bark.
