Dendrobium oligophyllum

"Dendrobium oligophyllum Gagnep. is native to Vietnam and the south-central and south-eastern regions of Thailand. They grow in evergreen lowland forests and primary montane forests at heights of about 660 m.

Description: 

With clustered, cylindrical stems that are leafy in the upper half carrying 2 to 8 , distichous, bilobed leaves that can flower at most any time of the year on a 2.5 to 6.25 cm long, axillary, 1 to 4 flowered inflorescence carrying longlasting flowers.

Distribution:

Laos, Thailand, Vietnam (Lào Cai, Lâm Đồng, Nam Cát Tiên).

Ecological:

In evergreen lowland forests and primary montane forests at elevations around 200 to 650 m as a miniature sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte.

Flowering times:

Blooms in the summer.

Flower size:

2.5 cm.

Cultivation:

LIGHT/LOCATION: semi-shady

TEMPERATURE: warm (20 - 24 °C)

WATERING: Pour every 7 days
