English Name:

O'Byrne's Diplocaulobium (Peter O'Byrne British Orchid enthusiast in SE Asia died 8/18).

Description: 

With non swollen base of the stem and carrying linear leaves that blooms in the spring and summer and needs a slight winter rest to promote blooming.

Distribution:

New Guinea.

Ecological:

At low elevations as a miniature sized, hot growing epiphyte.

Flowering times:

Blooms in the spring and summer.

Flower size:

2.5 cm.

Cultivation:

Plant requires cool to warm temperatures and medium amounts of light. Keep plant moist and fertilize during growth season. From fall to winter reduce water and resume normal watering patterns when new shoots appear in spring. Plant is best mounted. Pot in medium fir bark with perlite or sphagnum moss.
