 its native range is Himalaya to Myanmar.

Dendrobium amoenum Wall. ex Lindl.

English Name:

The Lovely Dendrobium.

Description: 

With slender pendulous stems with thick nodes carrying many, pale green, deciduous, linear to oblong-lanceolate, narrow, wavy leaves that are apically pointed. Blooming occurs in the later spring on a short, axillary, 1 to few flowered, racemose inflorescence emerging from the upper leafless nodes and holding the fra(violets), flowers that may or may not open fully.

Distribution:

Assam, Bangladesh, East Himalaya, India, Myanmar, Nepal, West Himalaya.

Ecological:

This medium to large sized, cool to warm growing epiphyte isfound at the base of trees where they stay wetter and have less temperature fluctuations in tropical valleys and oak forests at elevations of 660 to 2000 m.

Flowering times:

Blooms in the spring .

Flower size:

5.0 cm.

Cultivation:

Plant grows in cool to intermediate temperatures with medium amounts of light. Keep plant moist and fertilize during growth season. During winter reduce watering until new shoots appear. Grow in a well drain mix of sphagnum moss or medium fir bark.
