Description:
With clustered, elliptic, 4 ribbed, deeply grooved between, slightly rugose, dark glossy green pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, plicate, 5 nerved, pink to purple in youth, dark glossy green, broadly lanceolate leaf that gradually narrows into a distinct petiole and blooms in the late winter on a 10 to 20 cm long, limp, successively single to 5 flowered inflorescence with a tubluar, acute sheath all arising from the center of a new growth and carrying color variable, sometimes sweetly scented flowers.
Distribution:
Malaya, Sumatera, Thailand.
Ecological:
In primary and secondary montane forests at elevations of 700 to 1900 m as a medium sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte.
