Describtion:
Small tree, 3-5 m high, young branchesbrownish-gray, pubescent. old branchesgreyish-brown, glabrous. Leaves shortlystalked; blade fairly thick and coriaceous,oblong, 15-20 cm long and 5.5-6 cm wide,acute apex, cuneate or fairly obtuse atthe base, deep green and shining above,glabrous, light green with scattered browncork-warts below, glabrous, lateral veins7-8 pairs, sunken above, protruding below,margins serrulate; petioles 6-10 mm long,pubescent.Flowers sub-sessile, orange-red, 3-4.3 cmin diameter, terminal on young shoots,perules 6-8, petals 7-10. Androecium about170 stamens, filaments about 20 mm, outerfilaments united 5-7 mm from the base andunited with petals at the base.
