Tuberolabium kotoense Yamam.

Family: 

Orchidaceae Juss.

Synonym:

Saccolabium kotoense (Yamam.) Yamam.

English Name:

The Koto Tuberolabium (An Montane Area of Taiwan).

Chinese name:

Guan Chun Lan - 管唇兰.

Description: 

It blooms on an to 25 cm long, axillary, lateral, pendant, few to many (8 to 50) flowered inflorescence with the waxy, fleshy, floral scented flowers opening simultaneously and occuring in the winter.

Distribution:

Taiwan.

Ecological:

On the trunks of ficus trees in montane forests at elevations around 300 meters as a hot growing, miniature sympodial epiphyte.

Flowering times:

Blooms in the winter.

Flower size:

1.2 cm.

Cultivation:

Light:

Shade; 500-1500 Footcandles (indirect low light,slight shadowing). 

Temperature:

Intermediate to Warm; 58°F min. to 88°F max.

Watering:

Moist; 3-5 waterings per week (let dry lightly between waterings).
