Description:
With a stem carrying about 6, narrowly oblong, somewhat broader in the apical half, tough, unevenly bilobed apically, obtuse leaves that blooms on a more or less horizontal, arising from low on the stem, 2.6 cm long, 10 to 15 flowered inflorescence with rather large, broadly ovate, green bracts and about half the flowers open at any one time.
Distribution:
Borneo, Malaya, Sumatera.
Ecological:
At elevations of 300 to 400 m as a miniature sized, hot growing epiphyte.
Flowering times:
Blooms in the summer.
Flower size:
2.0 cm.
Cultivation:
Plants are best grown hanged in baskets and on mounted and usually require moderate light and warm to hot temperatures. If hunged or mounted on cork, the roots must be watered frequently and if it is potted in bark they should be watered 1 to 2 times a week. Plants should be grown in media that is kept moist but not wet such as several pieces of medium to coarse fir bark, or sphagnum moss. Water evenly and fertilize heavily year round. Keep plants in a area with high humidity.
