Description:
Found with loosely clustered, conical-ovoid to fusiform-ovoid pseudobulbs carrying 2 to 3, towards the apex, elliptic to oblong-ligulate, obtuse or acute leaves that blooms in the spring to summer an apical, 6 to 20 cm long, few to many 3 to 20 flowered, erect, racemose inflorescence with non-resupinate, successive opening, fragrant flowers.
Distribution:
Guatemala, Mexico Southeast, Mexico Southwest.
Ecological:
In pine and oak or mixed forests at altitudes of 1400 to 2400 m as a medium sized, cool to cold growing epiphyte.
Flowering times:
Blooms in the spring to summer.
Flower size:
5.0 cm.
Cultivation:
Plants grow in cool to warm conditions and can be grown in medium size fir bark with perlite. Plant prefers drying periods between watering and bright light is recommended. Lengthen drying period a bit in the winter.
