Description:
With large roots and one to two, deciduous, oblong-elliptic, subacute leaves and blooms in the spring on a suberect to erect, racemose inflorescence with 1 to 2, distant, tubular bracts and lanceolate, acuminate, concave floral bracts carrying 4 to 6, color variable flowers.
Distribution:
Assam, Bangladesh, China South-Central, East Himalaya, Laos, Myanmar, Nepal, Thailand, Tibet, Vietnam (Quản Bạ, Hà Giang), West Himalaya.
Ecological:
At forest edges at elevations of 1100 to 2100 m as a miniature, cool to cold growing epiphyte.

Blooms in the spring.

Cultivation:
Light:
Shade; 500-1500 Footcandles (indirect low light,slight shadowing).
Temperature:
Warm, Intermediate to Cool;45°F min. to 98°F max.(tolerant of extremes,favoring warm).

Moist/Daily Watering; 4-7 waterings per week.
Grow in cool to warm temperatures. Pot in medium fir bark and keep in partial shade. Water about once a week. Keep plant fairly moist but not wet.
