Description: 

With circular to kidney-shaped; to 7 blunt angled, shortly pubescent above, grooved petiolate base leaf that blooms in the spring on an erect, 3.5 cm long, single flowered inflorescence with 2 basal sheaths and linear, concave, acute floral bracts.

Assam, Benin, Burundi, Cameroon, Central African Repu, Congo, East Himalaya, Ethiopia, Ghana, Guinea, Gulf of Guinea Is., India, Ivory Coast, Jawa, Kenya, Laos, Liberia, Madagascar, Malawi, Mali, Mauritius, Mozambique, Nepal, New Caledonia, New Guinea, Nigeria, Northern Provinces, Philippines, Queensland, Réunion, Samoa, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Sumatera, Swaziland, Taiwan, Tanzania, Thailand, Togo, Vanuatu, Vietnam, West Himalaya, Zambia, Zaïre, Zimbabwe.

Ecological:

In grasslands at elevations of sealevel to 1500 m as a small sized, hot to cool growing terrestrial.

Flowering times:

Blooms in the spring.

Flower size:

3.8 cm.

Cultivation:

It needs humid conditions and a dry winter rest when the leaf dies. It can tolerate hot to cold weather.
