With an erect stem enveloped completely by striate, tubular-adpressed leaf bearing sheaths and carrying several, linear-oblong, slightly and obliquely bifid apically, sessile, jointed leaves and blooms in the late spring and early summer on a lateral, laxly successively 10 to 15 flowered, racemose, to 15 cm long inflorescence.

Bangladesh, East Himalaya, Myanmar, Nepal, Thailand.
Ecological:
In tropical valleys and subtropical terai forests at elevations around 400 meters as a small sized, hot growing epiphyte.
Flowering times:
Blooms in the late spring and early summer.

Cultivation:
We find that in cultivation the species enjoys constantly warm conditions in Warm Asia and we keep it watered throughout the year as the species never really stops growing. Summer flowering is very reliable indicating daylight length is the flowering trigger.
