Description:
With slender, erect, ramicauls enveloped basally by 2 to 3 thin, tubular sheaths carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, elliptical, subacute leaf that is cuneate below into a slender petiole and blooms on a slender, erect, 12 to 14 cm long, single flowered inflorescence arising from low on the ramicaul with a bract below the middle and a thin tubular floral bract holding the fragrant floral scented flower at leaf height.

Ecological:
As a miniature sized, cold growing orchid in cloud forests at elevations of 3000 to 3500 m.

Blooms in the summer.
Flower size:
2.5 cm.
Cultivation:
Grow Masdevallia cyclotega in a pot, in shade, and keep it evenly watered all year. This species likes cold temperatures and will only grow indoors if cool night time temperatures, humidity above 60% and air circulation are provided at all times.
