Geodorum densiflorum

"Geodorum densiflorum (Lam.) Schltr., commonly known as pink nodding orchid or 地宝兰 (di bao lan) is at full bloom. This is the 1st time it gives me 2 spikes with 6 flowers on each. 
It is a terrestrial orchid with broad, pleated, dark green to yellowish leaves and up to and twenty pale pink flowers with dark red veins on the labellum. It grows in wetter habitats including rainforest, woodlands, grasslands and swamps."

Description: 

With underground, spherical pseudobulbs carrying, 2 to 5, thin-textured, lanceolate to oblong-elliptic, plicate, petiolate leaves that blooms in the spring, summer andfall with an erect, basal, 10 to 25 cm at the outset and extending to 30 to 40 cm, many (10 to 25) flowered inflorescence with a short rachis and the waxy, non-spreading flowers crowded at the apex that always has a "U" shape to it, with the flowers clustered on the downward side until fertilization occurs which causes it to straighten out, as it continues to arise with a new growth.

Ecological:

Forests, streamsides, grassy slopes; 300-2400 m.

Flowering times:

Blooms in the spring, summer.

Flower size:

1.0 cm.

Cultivation:

Warm growing terrestrial, keep in light position.
