"Eria javanica (Sw.) Blume is a species of orchid, which is a plant. It is the type species of the genus Eria. It is widespread from Sikkim east to Taiwan, and through much of Southeast Asia to New Guinea"

Description: 

With ovoid to laterally compressed, pyriform, basally sheathed pseudobulbs carrying 1 or 2, lanceolate, acuminate, petiolate leaves which are darker above than below that blooms in the spring and summer on a subterminal, erect to drooping, to 60 cm long and taller than the leaves, hairy stalked, racemose inflorescence that is longer than the leaves, has lanceolate bracts, and many (50) star like, sweetly fragrant flowers evenly distributed on all sides of the raceme arising from the nodes at the apex of a mature pseudobulb. 

Distribution:

Assam, Bismarck Archipelago, Borneo, China South-Central, East Himalaya, Jawa, Laos, Lesser Sunda Is., Malaya, Maluku, Myanmar, New Guinea, Philippines, Sulawesi, Sumatera, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam (Khánh Bình, Khánh Mỹ, Khánh Hoà).

Ecological:

Lithophytic in rocky places, sometimes in forests; 300-1000 m.

Flowering times:

Blooms in the spring and summer.

Flower size:

3.8 cm.

Cultivation:

Plant should be grown in a shady area with warm temperatures. plants should be watered two to three times a week with dry outs between watering. Plants should be potted in medium fir bark with perlite or in sphagnum moss.
