The Chinese Minute Flowered Dendrobium.

Chinese name:

勐海石斛 meng hai shi hu

Description: 

With narrowly ovoid to fusiform, 3 to 4 noded stems carrying 2 to 3, narrowly oblong, leathery, dilated below into the base leaves that blooms on 1 to 3, subterminal or lateral on current years stem, 2 to 4 cm long, rachis slender, several flowered inflorescence with ovate, membraneous, acute floral bracts.

Distribution:

China South-Central (S Yunnan (Menghai, Mengla)).

Ecological:

In open forests at elevations of 1000 to 1400 m as a miniature sized, cool growing epiphyte.

Flowering times:

Blooms in the summer.

Flower size:

1.3 cm.

Cultivation:

Plants generally require a reduction of watering or with holding of water during the winter due to dormancy period. Plants grow in a variety of temperature ranges and lighting ranges which is dependent on the species. Plants can usually be mounted.
