Description:
With yellowish, pendulous to arching, rod-like canes with basal pseuobulbous swellings that continue to elongate for many seasons and carrying several, dark green, papery, oblong-lanceolate, wavy margined leaves that blooms in the summer and fall on a slender, drooping, 15 cm long, 9 to 12 flowered inflorescnece with 2 to 4 flowers in groups arising from near the apex of the previous years cane and carrying large fragrant flowers.
Distribution:
Assam, Bangladesh, China South-Central, East Himalaya, Myanmar, Nepal, Tibet.
Cultivation:
Light:
Shade to Bright; 1500-2500 Footcandles (indirect light,pronounced shadowing).
Temperature:
Intermediate to Cool; 52°F min. to 80°F max.
Watering:
Moist; 3-5 waterings per week (let dry lightly between waterings).
Flowering times:
Blooms in the summer and fall.
Flower size:
10.0 cm.
Ecological:
In warm valleys at elevations of 1000 to 2000 m as a small, medium to large sized, cool growing epiphyte or lithophyte on lava rocks.
