Description:
With slender to swollen, spindle-shaped pseudobulbs carrying 2 to 8, glossy, linear to elliptic-lanceolate leaves that blooms in the late winter to the early summer on a lateral, 2 to 3 cm long, 1 to rarely 3 flowered inflorescence arising from the upper nodes of an older, mature cane and carrying very large for the size of the plant, orange-scented flowers.
Distribution:
Assam, Myanmar, Thailand.
Ecological:
On Rhododendron bushes at elevations of 1500 to 1800 m as a miniature sized, cool growing epiphyte.
Flowering times:
Blooms in the late winter to the early summer.
Flower size:
6.0 cm.
Cultivation:
Plant grows in cool to warm temperatures with medium amounts of light. Keep plant moist and fertilize during growth season. During winter reduce watering until new shoots appear. Grow in a well drain mix of sphagnum moss or medium fir bark.
