"Cattleya luteola Lindl. is found in Ecuador, Peru, Brazil and Bolivia. It grows in lowland tropical rain forests at elevations between 100 and 1200 meters above sea level and occasionally up to 2000 meters."

Pale Yellow Cattleya.

Description: 

With a slender creeping rhizome giving rise to clavate, ellipsoid or clavate-cylindrical sulcate pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, oblong or oblong-elliptic, obtuse or notched apically leaf that blooms in the late summer till fall on a terminal, racemose, 4 to 15 cm long, several flowered inflorescence arising on a mature pseudobulb that is shorter than the leaves arising through a large dried basal sheath, and carries a few to several, long-lived, fragrant floral scented or not flowers.

Bolivia, Brazil North, Ecuador, Peru.

Ecological:

In lowland tropical rain forests at elevations between 100 and 1200 m and occasionally up to 2000 m as a dwarf sized, unifoliate, cool to warm growing epiphytic species.

Flowering times:

Blooms in the late summer till fall.

Flower size:

5.0 cm.

Cultivation:

Plants should be grown in medium fir bark with partial to full sun. The plant is a cool to warm growing orchid species. Water approximately once a week. Reduce watering during the winter. Plant can also be mounted.
