English Name:

The Felt Cap Bulbophyllum.

Description:

With slender, cylindrical pseudobulbs spaced 1 5/8" to 3 1/8" apart and ringed basally by stiff bristles and carries a single apical, narrowed gradually at both ends and basally into a short petiole leaf that booms in the winter through summer on an erect, 2 1/10" long, single flowered inflorescence arising directly from the rhizome away from and or from a pseudobulb base carrying fragrant flowers.

Distribution:

Borneo, Malaya, Sumatera, Thailand.

Ecological:

At elevations of sea-level to 1000 m in swamp forests on mature mangrove trees as a miniature sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte.

Flowering times:

Blooms in the winter through summer.

Flower size:

5.0 cm.

Cultivation:

Keep plant in cool to warm temperatures. Keep moist in summer seasons and do not allow mix to dry, in winter keep the mix slight dry and reduce watering. Keep good air movement to avoid fungal growth. Keep plants in shade. Pot plants in sphagnum moss, fine bark, or mounted.
