English Name:

The Comb-Like Nerved Bulbophyllum (refers to the fringed petals and dorsal sepal)

Chinese name:

Ban Chun Juan Ban Lan - 斑唇卷瓣兰.

Description: 

With a branching rhizome giving rise to close set, ovoid-globose wrinkled, squat, subtly tetragonal to many angled pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, erect, ovate-elliptic to oblong-lanceolate, obtuse apically, subsessile base leaf that blooms in the spring on a basal, slender, descending to pendent, laterally from the base, to 10 cm long, 3 to 9 flowered inflorescence holding the simultaneously opening flowers in an umbel.

Distribution:

China South-Central, China Southeast, Hainan, Laos, Vietnam (Lai Châu, Cao Bằng, Quảng Ninh, Tây Nguyên, Lâm Đồng).

Ecological:

In evergreen lowland forests at elevations of 800 to 1200 m as a small sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte.

Flowering times:

Blooms in the spring.

Flower size:

3.5 cm.

Cultivation:

Keep plant in warm temperatures. Keep moist in summer seasons and do not allow mix to dry, in winter keep the mix slight dry and reduce watering. Keep good air movement to avoid fungal growth. Keep plants in shade. Pot plants in sphagnum moss, fine bark, or mounted.
