Description:
With 1 3/43" between the ovoid pseudobulbs carrying the single, apical, linear-oblong, subacute leaf that blooms on a basal, slender, to 28" (80 cm) long inflorescence with a few sequentially opening flowers on a short expanding rachis occuring over several months.
Distribution:
Fiji, Marianas, Niue, Samoa, Santa Cruz Is., Solomon Is., Tonga, Vanuatu, Wallis-Futuna Is.
Ecological:
As a unifoliate epiphyte at elevations of sealevel to 500 meters in mangrove swamps and open forests.
Flowering times:
Blooms in the summer.
Flower size:
2.5 cm.
Cultivation:
This species requires a moisture holding medium in a large pot, hot temperatures, partial shade and ample water and fertilizer.
