English Name:
The Blood Red Symphoglossum.
Description:
With oval-oblong, compressed pseudobulbs carrying 2 apical, linear, acute, conduplicate below leaves that blooms on a terminal, sllender, arcuate to pendant, to 120 cm long, racemose, laxly many [100+] flowered inflorescence that arises from the apex of a new growth occuring from fall through spring. This species has crosses made with it but registered under the name Cochlioda sanguinea.

Ecuador, Peru.
Ecological:
A small to medium sized, cold to warm growing, epiphytic species in wet forests at altitudes of 1200 to 2500 m.
