"Galeandra baueri Lindl. is native to French Guiana, Peru and Bolivia. For the first time this orchid was found in French Guiana at an altitude of 1000 m. Since then, the plants have been found in Bolivia."

This is a medium sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte found on trees in pine lands and in open forests usually on palms and found at elevations of 800 to 1200 m in altitude.
