Description:
With erect, grooved, swollen stems that are often marked with red stripes carrying many, elliptic to oblong-lanceolate, distichous, twisted basally, deciduous leaves that are apically bilobed and all lie in a single plane , occuring at elevations of 100 to 700 meters often in full sun, that blooms in the winter, spring and summer and fall with a single flower that arises rom the nodes of leafless canes with heavy textured, longlasting flowers. A steady water and fertilizer regimen suits this orchid well.
Distribution:
Borneo, Malaya, Philippines, Sulawesi, Sumatera, Thailand, Vietnam (Hương Thuỷ, A Lưới, Thừa Thiên-Huế, Nha Trang, Tây Nguyên, Đồng Nai).
Ecological:
At elevations around 300 to 1600 m in evergreen lowland forests and primary montane forests as a medium sized, hot to cool growing epiphyte.
Flowering times:
Blooms in the winter, spring and summer and fall.
Flower size:
3.0 cm.
Cultivation:
Plant grows in warm to hot temperatures with full sun light. Keep consistent watering year round. Keep the media moist but not wet. Grow in a well drain mix of sphagnum moss or medium fir bark.
