Dendrobium amabile (Lour.) O'Brien

"Dendrobium amabile (Lour.) O'Brien is a species of Dendrobium orchid genus, with a pseudobulb which can store water, their roots grow very strong so it is basically quite easy to grow."

The Enchanting Dendrobium.

Description: 

With many ridged, jointed and swollen in the middle stems that taper at both ends and carrying 2 to 5, oblong-lanceolate, leathery, persistent leaves all held towards the apex and blooms in the spring and summer on a 30 cm long, pendulous, laxly several flowered inflorescence.

Distribution:

Hainan China and Vietnam.

Ecological:

At elevations around 1200 m as a medium sized, cool growing epiphyte.

Plant grows in intermediate to warm temperatures with medium amounts of light. Keep plant moist and fertilize during growth season. During winter reduce watering until new shoots appear. Grow in a well drain mix of sphagnum moss or medium fir bark.
