English Name:
The Window Bulbophyllum (refers to the hole formed by the sepals).
Description:
With 2 to 16 cm between each distinct, ovoid to ellipsoid, distinctly four angled pseudobulb carrying a single apical, erect, obovate, obtuse to acute, petiolalte base leaf that blooms on an erect to patent, peduncle 8 to 12 cm long, rachis porrect to curved, 9 to 13 cm long overall, subumbellate, 7 to 15 flowered inflorescence.
Distribution:
Borneo, Jawa, Malaya, Sumatera, Thailand.
Ecological:
In rather open, dry primary forests at elevations of 100 to 1100 m as a small sized, hot to cool growing epiphyte.
Flowering times:
Blooms in the summer.
