Description:
Growing epiphyte or occasional lithophyte on limestone cliffs with clustered, leafy, flattened stems that are completely enveloped by the many, distichous, succulent, alternating, triangular, overlapping, dark, imbricating, dull green leaves on an axillary, short, single flowered inflorescence arising at the apex of the imbricating canes with 1 to 2 fleshy, fragrant [vanilla] flowers.

Borneo, Cambodia, Laos, Malaya, Sumatera, Thailand, Vietnam (Tây Nguyên, Lâm Đồng, Đồng Nai).
Ecological:
In lowland forests at elevations of sea level to 1150 m.
