"Catasetum mattosianum Bicalho is endemic to Brazil, with distribution restricted to the Atlantic Forest, in the states of Bahia and Espírito Santo. It has 2,069.78 km² EOO and 12 km² AOO. In addition, the species is restricted to three distinct threat situations and has a severely fragmented population structure. Its region of occurrence has suffered significant losses of the original vegetation cover due to intensive agriculture, especially forestry. Several threats arising from human activities put the species at risk. Thus, C. mattosianum was assessed as "Endangered" (EN)"
