Description:
A short stem carrying 3 to 8, linear, v-shaped in cross-section leaves that blooms in the later summer on n erect to ascending, simple to 2 branched, rigid, to to 20 cm long inflorescence enveloped by pale bracts.
Distribution:
Madagascar, Réunion
Ecological:
on moss and lichen-covered trees in mossy forests in south-central Madagascar, with collections reported from near Antananarivo at about 1550 m.
Flowering times:
Blooms in the later summer.
Flower size:
14 mm.
Cultivation:
Plants are best grown hanged in baskets and on mounted and usually require shade and warm temperatures. Plants should be grown in media that is well drained such as tree fern fibers, several pieces of coarse fir bark, or sphagnum moss. Water regularly year round.
