Description:
Short-stemmed tree completely covered by leaf-bearing sheaths, leaf-blade and sheathed, narrow, opposite, oblique atop, with many hairs below the leaves on an erect tree, 45 cm long, longer. more than leaves, a few to as many to 25, the inflorescence can grow in clusters or rarely to flower with fragrant waxy flowers, long-lived plants.
Distribution:
Borneo, Marianas, Nansei-shoto, Philippines, Taiwan.
Ecological:
On sunny tree trunks or rocks. At elevations of sealevel to 350 m.
Flowering times:
Blooms in the spring and later summer.
Flower size:
4.5 cm.
Cultivation:
Plants are best grown hanged in baskets and on mounted and require bright to full sunlight and warm temperatures. If hunged the roots must be watered frequently. Plants should be grown in media that is well drained such as tree fern fibers (for small plants), several pieces of coarse fir bark, or sphagnum moss.
