Dendrobium griffithianum Lindl.

"Dendrobium griffithianum Lindl. native to Myanmar and mountains of northern and western Thailand. These unusual plants grow high on trees at heights of around 500 m above sea level."

Griffith's Dendrobium (English Collector in Myanmar 1800's)

Etymologie:

griffithianum = GRIFFITH, engl. orchid collector, 18th century

Thailand Name:

Ueang Matcha Luang.

Distribution:

Himalayas, Assam, Nepal, Myanmar, Thailand, Laos up to southern China

Ecological:

High up in trees around 450m.
