Dendrobium amethystoglossum Rchb.f.

Dendrobium amethystoglossum Rchb.f.  native to northwest part of the island of Luzon (Philippines). They occur in the province of Benguet, where they often grow on mossy, limestone cliffs, at an altitude of about 1,400 m.

Description:

Clustered, erect, or arching, long, cane-like, often fractiflex, ridged stems carry several, oval, pale green, deciduous, shiny, leathery, ascendingly curved backward leaves that blooms in the winter on a axillary, pendant, 15 cm long, densely 15 to 20 flowered raceme with fragrant, drooping, long-lasting flowers that arise from nodes at the apex of the leafless canes but occcasionally on leafy ones.Distribution:Philippines.

Ecological:

Growing on mossy, limestone cliffs at 1400 m.

Blooms in the winter.
