Description:
Leaves are about the size of a hand, about 20cm high. Its round tubers are fingertip, succulent, probably attracts insects so there are very few plants. 30cm high inflorescences, carrying more than a dozen small blue flowers with black stripes
Flowering: Flowers bloom in May to June.
Distribution:
Found in Bangladesh, eastern Himalayas, India, Nepal, Pakistan, western Himalayas, Chinese Himalayas, Andaman Islands, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand, Vietnam, Borneo, Java, Sumatra, Lesser Sunda Islands, Malaysia, Mollucas, Philipines, Sulawesi, Papua and New Guinea, Solomon Islands, Queensland Australia, Fiji, Niue, New Caledonia, Samoa, Tonga, Vanuatu, Wallis & Futna, Marianas, the Carolines and Taiwan. In Vietnam: Quảng Ninh, Ninh Bình, Tây Nguyên.
Ecological: Forests, shaded and damp places along valleys; 400-2300 m.
Use: Cures cough, hemoptysis, tuberculosis, traumatic falls, swollen pains.
