Description:
Decumbent to suberect perennial herb. Stems up to 35 cm long; most parts densely covered in soft spreading hairs. Leaves opposite elliptic; margin entire. Flowers in terminal cylindrical spikes, with ovate, glandular and hairy bracts. Corolla, 5-lobed, 2-lipped, mauve-blue, purplish or white. Capsule oblong, slightly beaked.
Distribution: This plant occurs in China, Bhutan, Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Nepal, Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam. In Viet Nam: Tuyên Quang (Chiêm Hoá), Kon Tum, Đồng Nai, Cần Thơ. Cây mọc tự nhiên ở ruộng vào mùa khô.
Ecological: Plants grow naturally in the field during the dry season, wet places, open forests; 400-2000 m.
Uses: Treatment of hematoma, swelling (Leaf juice extract).
