Caulis Lonicerae is produced mainly in the provinces of Zhejiang, Sichuan, Jiangsu and Henan. It is collected in autumn and winter, dried in sunlight, and used unprepared.
Properties  Taste & Meridians:
Sweet in flavor, cold in property, acts on the Lung, Stomach, and Large Intestine channels.
Functions:
Clears away Heat and removes toxins.
Indications & Combinations:
1. For carbuncles, sores, and swelling, it is used with Herba Taraxaci (Pu Gong Ying), Fructus Forsythiae Suspensae (Lian Qiao), Radix Astragali Membranaceus (Huang Qi), and Radix Angelicae Sinensis (Dang Gui).
2. For arthralgia due to Wind Damp Heat manifested as red, swollen, and painful joints.
Dosage and administration:
16–20 g, decocted in water for an oral dose, or macerated into wine for drinking.
